Sheena Brown, Ph.D., MPH, is an Assistant Professor and Program Director of Human Services and Family Studies & Human Development at UA South, with a joint appointment in the Health Promotion Sciences department in the Mel & Enid Zuckerman College of Public Health.

Dr. Brown trained as a neurobiologist, her PhD is in zoology and anatomy from the University of Otago, New Zealand. This transition was inspired by a desire to be more involved in higher education, to empower students to be engaged in their own health and wellness, their education, and in their community. Dr. Brown is particularly interested in the association between chronic stress and chronic disease, and has designed and implemented contemplative-based programs to address the increasing stress burden in both children and adults. Dr. Brown is an advocate and supporter of diversity, particularly in higher education.
